Are we comfortable yet?

“All the concepts about stepping out of your comfort zone mean nothing until you decide that your essential purpose, vision and goals are more important than your self-imposed limitations.” ~ Robert White

This week I want to talk about moving out of our comfort zones. I would guess that 99% of the advances mankind has made were made by people who had the courage to try something new. People who overcame the fear and stepped out of their comfort zone.

It can be scary indeed to step into the unknown, to thread where no one has yet gone. Remember the saying, “to the victor goes the spoils.” In this case it is the one who has the courage to believe in their dream and take action, even when they are scared to the bone, that the dream becomes the spoils.

It is easy to say, “just do it,” to someone else. It is another story to take a look at ourselves and just do it.

Everything starts in the mind. First we have a dream, then the fear takes over. It says, “what if I fail” or that’s a crazy idea, it will never work.

Many times when we tell those we love of our dream we get the same reaction from them, re-enforcing our fear. They think they are being helpful and don’t want to see us get hurt and disappointed.

That is why there is a train of thought that says, keep it to yourself and just go for it. There is another train of thought that says, tell everyone your dream because that gets it out there and it is more likely to come true. Which one is true? The one that works for you.

Just remember, “what ever the mind can see and believe can become reality.” So you see it, do you believe it? That is the question. If so, don’t let anyone talk you out of going for it.

Life is an adventure. It can be fun and exciting. You only have to overcome one obstacle; fear. Some people love to do risky things that bring on that feeling of fear. They jump off cliffs and take daredevil rides. It all in the attitude.

Cultivate an attitude that life is a game and fear and excitement are apart of that game. Learn to embrace it when you are going for your dreams. Once you confront it you will find that it is not as bad as it appeared.

Look back in your life and you will notice that once that fearful experience was over you were still OK.

TODAY’S TIP: Focus your intent on getting the most out of your life and moving past the fear.

What frightens you most?
