Are you living?

“The abundant life does not come to those who have had a lot of obstacles removed from their path by others. It develops from within and is rooted in strong mental and moral fiber.” ~ William Mather Lewis

I once took a Dale Carnegie course on Public Speaking and Human Relations. In trying to overcome our fears we were asked to think of the worse thing that could happen to us. My answer at that time was to die.

That was then but this is now. I have come to realize that there is something  worse than to die. What is worse? How about to die without having lived?

What do I mean? Well, take a look around you. How many people do you see that are downtrodden, depressed, and living in misery. Sometimes they have been called the living dead.

These are people that life has beaten. Many of them will leave life without ever knowing the joy that life can bring. Some people, for various reasons, have given up on life and do not believe that they can be happy.

How about you? Have you found your joy? Or have you gotten stuck in a rut and have lost sight of the joys of life. If so it is time to rethink how you feel about your life and the world around you.

First, do you have a purpose. Life without purpose is a dull and boring life. If you cannot tell yourself that you have a purpose you should contemplate on your life and find your purpose. Everyone has a purpose in life. Finding yours may be the difference between living with joy and simply existing.

Once you have discovered your purpose it is time to find your joy. Many times your joy will be contained in fulfilling your purpose. Look at what makes you feel good.

Always remember that we were meant to be happy in life. Things may not always go as we would like, but it is our attitude that makes life happy or sad.

We cannot always seem to control what goes on around us, but we can control our attitude. It is not what happens to us but how we react that determines how much joy we will experience.

We must practice the game of life if we are to become proficient at life. We practice daily with our attitude. We can focus on the joys life have to offer and push those negative thoughts and emotions out when we begin to experience them.

Start your day, everyday, by cultivating and re-inforcing the joy of living for yourself and those around you. The best way to make life better for others is the make life better for yourself.

TODAY’S TIP: Before getting out of bed play out your day in a possitive way and before going to sleep give thanks of a blessed day.

Are you happy yet?
