How is your Chi? (part 2)

“To have a world where peace and harmony reign supreme , we must journey to the self and discover that part of our inner being which invokes divine energy and honours the beauty and dignity of all living things.” ~ Michael Teal ~

Yesterday we talked about how everything is energy or Chi, which is our life force. Today we will discuss how you can get in touch with that unseen energy of your body.

We feel the energy around us even if we are unable to recognize it. We act because of how we interpret the energy we are exposed to. Have you ever met someone who you took an instant dislike? That reaction was because of the way you reacted to their energy field.

Probably the one most obvious way we feel the energy is through sex. The reason we are sexually attracted to some and not others is because of how closely the energies match. When you express love you sometimes feel a warm glow in your chest. That is because the energy has been activated.

I am going to talk about two exercises that you can use to become aware of the energy and how it feels to you. When experiencing energy everyone does not have the same sensations. Some may feel warmth and some may feel a tingling sensation. While practicing these exercises for the first time, do so with an open mind and with no preconceived ideas.

The first exercise is simple. Hold your hands about 6 inches apart with palms facing each other. Rotate your hands in a circular motion at medium speed. When you start to feel a sensation start moving your hands closer together and then farther apart. Keep doing this exercise until you are able to be aware of sensation, such as warmth or tingling or any other sensation that you do not normally experience.

The second exercise is rotating a ball of energy inside your abdomen.

This exercise is extremely beneficial when you are feeling tired, run down, or lacking in energy. It is important to focus on your lower abdomen, feeling the energy accumulate when performing this exercise.

  1. Stand with you spine straight, chin tucked slightly in and knees bent. Hold your hands in front of your pelvic area with your palms facing upward and your fingers almost touching. Sense the connection between your hand and the energy within your lower abdomen. Remain in this position for two minutes, imagining the energy is growing and filling out into a ball of energy with your hands.
  2. Breathing naturally in through your nose and out through your mouths slowly rotate your hands up and around the ball. Imagine that your are penetrating down inside your body.
  3. Keep rotating your hands until they are resting on top of the ball, just below your ribs. Then bring your hands, thumbs first, around the back of the ball. Feel as if you are creating space in your body.
  4. As your hands reach the lowest level, in front of your pelvic area, twist them so they are beneath the energy ball. Rotate the ball another 35 times. Finally, with your hands in position 1, image the ball of energy contracting into a tiny spark of light within the lower abdomen. Shake your hands when you have finished this exercise.

The more you practice these exercises the more you will get in touch with the energy. in part 3 we will talk about how to work with your Chi and how to strengthen your Chi.

TODAY’S TIP: Practice the second exercise often. It will increase your energy and give you a greater understanding of how your energy or Chi works.

Are you ready to work with your life force?
