How long does it last?
“A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success.” ~ Elbert Hubbard
Maybe the title should read, how long do you last? This week we will discuss persistence. This is one of the keys to success. A key where many fall by the wayside.
It will often take persistence or perseverance to complete a project and have it turn out successful. Many do not know how close they came to success because they were impatient and quit just before they would have achieved success.
We have become a society who wants and expects instant gratification. When we do not achieve this we drop what we are doing and go on to something else.
I have known people who were trying to start a business. They start a process and before it has a chance to work they drop it and start something new. Some will do this over and over, then wonder why they can not seem to make the business work.
Those who are successful tell us to; write out a plan, then work that plan. You can make adjustments as needed but do not abandon the plan until you have exhausted every effort to make it work.
Persistence is the key. Follow your instincts. If you are following the process of the law of attraction, you ask for what you want and then shut up. The Universe will then show you the way. Quit often the way is shown by your instincts.
It is for this reason that when you formulate your plan from what you have been shown it is necessary to follow the plan. Do not let fear or your ego talk you into abandoning your plan prematurely.
This is also the reason why it is important that you include concise, clear steps in your plan. If you work your plan one step at a time you can see the results as you go along. Where as, if you only include the end results with unclear steps you can easily get sidetracked and think the plan is failing.
Remember the story of Edison and the electric light bulb. Edison perfected the electric light bulb on his 1001 attempt. Some would say that he failed 1000 times, but Edison says that he ruled out 1000 things that did not work.
TODAY’S TIP: A good way of looking at it is to go as far as you can, then go a little farther. Get into the habit of going a little farther than you think you can.
Do you quit easily?
