“It does not take much strength to do things, but it requires great strength to decide what to do.” ~ Elbert Hubbard ~
How does one decide what to do? It is helpful if you have all the information concerning the thing you are thinking about doing. That is not always possible, so sometimes you have to rely on instinct or divine guidance.
We have talked about four tools to help you get in touch with with your desires, goals and the divine guidance. They are meditation, visualization, affirmations and self talk. Using these tools daily will lead to more clarity and sense of purpose.
Today we will talk about some other things you can do to strengthen your resolve and make your path easier to navigate. First lets talk about growth.
Your personal growth should be a 24/7 process. It is not enough to read motivational material each day or attend a seminar or workshop once in a while. You must structure your days and nights so you get the most out of your efforts.
Each minute of your day should be planned with an eye on becoming more informed, more aware and a better Human Being. You should become as informed and aware of your dreams as possible. The time spent sleeping is an excellent time to promote growth because the mind is most receptive during this time.
The first tip is to start a journal or several journals. You want one for your daily activities and experiences. One could be for your goals and time lines. Another could be for your dreams. You could combine all of these subjects and keep only one journal, it’s up to you.
The main thing is to put everything on paper. This is one step removed from your mind and makes things more real. It will also keep things constant because you will be reading the same thing each time.
Write you goals and affirmations on 3 x 5 cards. These you can carry with you and read through out the day. Also post your goals and affirmations around your house and car. The more often you are reminded of them it easier it is to stay focused.
At the end of your day take time to reflect on what you accomplished and did not accomplish. Put together a list of things that you want to accomplish the next day. Prioritize your list so that the most important things are on top.
At the beginning of your day review the list you made the night before and pick the three or four most important things. These are must do items. Do these first and then complete other things on the list as time permits. Those you don’t get to will go on the next day’s list.
It is important that you do not beat yourself up if you do not finish everything on your list for that day. It will get done because those things not on the must do list today will become must do in the future.
TODAY’S TIP: Convert your car into your mobile university. Listen to motivational or educational materials as you drive. This is an excellent way to learn and keep your focus.
Are you ready for tomorrow?
