What are your expectations?

“Your attitude is an expression of your values, beliefs and expectations.” ~ Brian Tracy

We all live our lives with expectations. This can be a double edged sword. What expectations we hold for ourselves become a part of our lives. But, what expectations we hold for others usually bring disappointment and pain into our lives.

First lets look at expectations of others. Many people go into relationships with the expectation that the other will change in a way that they desire. When this does not happen the relationship starts to deteriorate.

The simple fact is that we cannot change another person. This is why in the Ultimate Healthy Lifestyle we teach that we should go into relationships with acceptance and tolerance. It should be determined if the acceptance and tolerance is worth getting into the relationship in the first place.

It takes a good sense of unconditional love to live without expectations of others. This means knowing who you are and living your life with positive expectations.

This brings us to the expectations of self. To live with positive expectations means to live with an attitude of knowing that your universe will always take care of you and bring you the things that make your life easier each day.

In order to grow and prosper you need to expect each day to be better than the last one. This means waking up in the morning with words of gratitude on your lips and the faith that the day will bring you more good than not so good.

Since your reality is created in the mind, what you most expect becomes apart of that reality. Provided, of course, that you truly believe and have faith in the process.

This belief goes into the different level of belief, of which there are three; mind, heart, and soul. Those three levels will be covered in a future post but for today lets stick to the attitude of positive expectations.

As I have said before, life is a game and to be good at any game it is necessary to practice. If you practice maintaining thoughts of positive expectations you will get positive results. If you have negative expectations then you will get negative results.

Do you know someone who complains a lot? Have you noticed that they always have plenty to complain about? The Universe thinks they like to complain and so in an attempt to make them happy makes sure that they will always have something to complain about.

On the other hand, do you know someone seems to always be in a positive mood? Notice how their life always seems to flow in a positive direction.

This week will be devoted to positive thinking and positive expectations.

TODAY’S TIP: Start to speak of the things you are grateful for when you wake up and before you go to bed. You will see a difference in your attitude.

Are you more positive or more negative?
