What exercise should I do?

We hear a lot of excuses when we ask people if they exercise. Their answers are just that, excuses. It all depends on your priority of values.

Is your health important to you? We all know that if we don’t exercise we shorten our lives. Then why doesn’t everyone exercise?

Well considering that some people answer why they smoke when they know it is killing them with, everyone has to die of something; we can see how many people delude themselves for various reasons. I would suggest that these people have low self esteem and don’t consider themselves worthy of the good life.

Just for the record; you don’t have to die of something, you can just as well die of nothing. We have all heard of people who go to bed one night, healthy, and peacefully die in their sleep.

It feels good to feel good. Exercise makes you feel good, beside the obvious health benefits. It is all in the attitude. I cannot stress too strongly the power of the mind. You can decide to exercise, put together a plan and follow that plan; if you set that as a priority.

What exercise should you do? You want to vary your exercise routine. It should include both cardio and strength training. You should exercise at least 20 to 30 minutes 3 or 4 times a week to get the full benefit of your workout.

I find that if you workout first thing in the morning it becomes easier to make sure you do not miss too many workouts. It is easier to justify not working out after work or in the evening when you may be feeling low energy.

It is up to you to decide what is important to you. It is your life and however you choose to live it is for for you to decide. There is no right or wrong way. It is your right and your privilege to live your life anyway you want to, as long as you do not hurt another.

If you know someone you wish to help and think they could benefit from exercise, remember you can only help someone who is ready and willing to help themselves. Otherwise the best thing that you can do for them is to be the roll model. Take care of you in the best possible way and maybe one day they will look at you as say to themselves; they did it, so can I.

For those of you who think they do not have time to exercise, think again. Recent studies have shown that you can get the full benefit of exercise if you do 10 minute segments 2 or 3 times a day. You don’t have to have any fancy equipment. Jumping jacks, push-ups and sit-ups will work. If you cannot schedule 10 minutes 2 or 3 times a day you may need to get a life.

TODAY’S TIP: Stop giving yourself excuses that lead to your not taking care of yourself. You are only hurting yourself.

What do you think about exercise now?
