What is good about positive self talk?

“We all have voices in our heads which talks to us on an almost constant basis. Our voices give us messages continually, and what they say to us affects us.” ~ Juliene Berk

Today we talk about positive self talk and some examples you can use.

Essential Examples of Positive Self Talk By Kristin Hutchings

We all know that positive self talk is good for us but sometimes it can be a little confusing as to what messages and affirmations we should use. You definitely want statements that induce a feeling of encouragement, peace and love – you want your thoughts to create a warm feeling of safety and knowledge that all is well in the world. You want to give yourself regular boosts of positivity using affirmations, but how do you do this?

Well, firstly ALWAYS say your positive affirmations in the present tense. This is very important as you want to feel the benefit of their power now, not only in the future. It is also a good idea to say the positive statements aloud. Now, this might not always be possible, especially if you are in the company of others! Remember that a positive thought and inner dialogue is still powerful even if it is not spoken out loud. Here are some examples of positive self talk statements:

Self talk for confidence

  • I am capable and can accomplish anything
  • I am a special person
  • I am confident around other people
  • Other people like me
  • I am worthwhile, successful and intelligent
  • I am happy
  • I am loved
  • I succeed in everything I do

Self talk for prosperity

  • I am constantly finding ways to make money
  • Money comes to me easily
  • I am generous with my money and give to others
  • I am a success in my career
  • Money is good and helps me do wonderful things
  • I can make lots of money because I am talented and clever
  • I am attracting lots of money every day

Self talk for health

  • I love to eat healthy foods
  • I love to exercise every day
  • Vegetables and fruit taste wonderful to me
  • I love being in the outdoors and fresh air
  • I nourish myself with the healthiest foods and vitamins
  • I am worth nourishing
  • I am healthy and strong

Self talk for stress and anxiety release

  • I am worry free and at peace
  • I am calm and relaxed
  • I know where I am going in life
  • I am able to solve any problem that may arise
  • I love challenges and opportunities
  • I know that anything is possible
  • I love to relax
  • I love to meditate every day and reflect on my life
  • I am always growing and learning
  • I like other people and accept their differences
  • I always do my best in everything
  • I am organized
  • I like being busy and having lots to do
  • I see the best everyone I meet

To increase the power of your words try to visualize at the same time. Perhaps you can picture a beautiful white sandy beach or a baby’s smile, someone you love or admire deeply or a stunning landscape. Picture anything that makes you feel uplifted and happy.

You need to use your positive self talk constantly to begin with – when you get up, when you brush your teeth and take a shower, when you eat your breakfast and travel to work and so on. If you prefer to set a time aside for your affirmations, then first thing in the morning and last thing at night are the best times to do so. Do this daily and you will soon see a remarkable difference in your life.
