What is your attitude?

“A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.” ~Herm Albright

This week I want to discuss attitude. Your attitude will determine just about everything that happens to you. It is also good to remember it is not what happens to you but how you deal with what happens to you. This is why attitude is so important.

You have probably hear the question, “is the glass half empty or half full?” Your attitude determines how you would answer that question. I you see it as half empty, you are concentrating on what is missing and you will get more of whats missing. On the other hand if you see it as half full, you will find it easier to fill it further.

Your attitudes are formed by your belief systems and your belief systems are formed by your perceptions. Attitudes can be changed but for lasting change it is also necessary to change you beliefs and perceptions.

Attempting to change you attitude is something that you should not attempt lightly. Question your beliefs and perceptions. Do they serve you? If not, why not? It is only after you ask yourself these questions that you may want to change your attitude.

For the last several weeks we have talked about the Law of Attraction and how we create our reality. If your attitude tells you that the glass is half empty you will probably not be able to manifest your desires. You will be concentrating on lack and you will get more lack.

We are told we should have a positive attitude. This is true but it goes beyond just being positive. We must also be in touch with who we are and have the faith and belief to allow our true being its freedom.

This is not easy with today’s emphasis on the more mundane things in our lives. It also seems that when we truly become serious about getting our life together we run into resistance and conflict from the very people we think should be supportive.

I have often had to counsel someone who’s spouse or family seem to be trying to stop them from growing and doing something that they want to do to improve themselves.

The thing to remember is that those people do not truly want to hold you back, but may be afraid that your growth will take you away from them. Be patient with them, but do not allow anyone to stop you from doing what you know to be in your best interest.

We are here in this physical world to learn and grow. We can accomplish this and be happy as we do or we can be miserable. The choice is yours. It may seem hard to remain happy as you go through life, but the extra effort is worth it. As the song goes, “Be Happy.”

TODAY’S TIP: When you are down, think of something that made you feel good in your pass. Choose to be happy.

How full is your glass?
