What is your discipline?

“Discipline is the refining fire by which talent becomes ability.” ~ Roy L. Smith

This week will be devoted to discipline. It is said that the teacher teaches what he most needs to learn. In this case it is certainly true.

I have continually struggled with discipline. Discipline is necessary to follow through on you plans in order to reach your goals. Without discipline one will most likely be pushed and pulled, this way and that, by the whims of what some call fate.

That is not fate however, for to realize one’s fate one must have the discipline to work towards that realization. One must follow one’s intuition and inner guidance to reach that place where your destiny was meant to be.

Having discipline is necessary to establish the habits and patterns that are necessary to achieve success. There are things that you can do to cultivate that discipline. To live the ultimate healthy lifestyle  discipline is a must.

This week we will discus some of the things that help in establishing discipline. The first thing one must have is the desire and passion make their life more pleasurable and productive.

Practicing certain so called disciplines, such as martial arts, yoga, or other technique that requires daily practice helps to establish a pattern or habit that makes discipline in other area of life easier.

The most basic of all disciplinary training is meditation, for meditation gives more control over the mind. We will talk about meditation in another post this week, but I want to start with other techniques since I often memtion meditation in my posts.

There is no one discipline that is right for everyone. You will need to find the one that is right for you. I practice Qigong. In the past I have practiced the martial arts but felt that I was more the healer than the warrior. So, I switched to a healing art. I also give energetic healing treatments which I call Qi healing. I have developed my technique over the years and it is unique to me.

Some people prefer Yoga, or Pilates, or Kung Fu or some other discipline. Whichever one you choose brings many benefits. It will not only help you establish discipline in your life it will also improve your health.

Combining one of the disciplines with meditation helps you establish control over your mind and body and helps to strengthen the mind, body connection.

In the coming days this week we will cover a couple of the disciplines I mentioned and meditation in more detail, so stay tuned.

TODAY’S TIP: Start today to establish the discipline necessary to work towards the realization of your goals. Once it becomes habit the effort will be worth it.

What discipline will you choose?
