When are you going to start taking action?

“Most people live and die with their music still unplayed. They never dare to try.” – Mary Kay Ash –

Some say that procrastination is the killer of dreams. I say that is not so, because as long as you procrastinate you can still dream the dream. What good is keeping the dream in your head?

Stop Procrastinating and Start Taking Action! By Patrick Charlington

Procrastination is one of the main causes of failure. Stop giving yourself excuses and reasons why you can’t do something instead give yourself reasons why you can. There are many reasons why people procrastinate the main are lack of desire, motivation, persistence, fear of failure and in general lack of self control. Stop procrastinating and start controlling your life.

In order to succeed you need to have a definite goal in life and a burning desire to achieve it. You must develop a plan to achieving that goal, because if you don’t have a plan how will you ever now if you’re at the right course? With a clear goal and plan it will be much easier to stay persistent and to take consistent action. First find out what you really want, I’m sure there is something you have a burning desire for.

You can’t be motivated if you don’t know where you’re going. The closer you are getting to your goal the more motivated you will be. A burning desire combined with increasing motivation will help you to stop procrastinating. A great way to increase your motivation is to listen to motivational speakers. The person who inspires me the most is Tony Robbins, he and some other motivational speakers really changed my life.

If you want to succeed you have to develop your mind. Imagine if you could switch your state of mind in a split second. You can do that, but you’re just not aware of it. Think of every task you need to do as a ‘must’ instead of a ‘should’, that can greatly increase your chances to stop procrastinating.

Procrastination is weakness, why are you allowing yourself to be weak? A good way to stop procrastinating is to remember why you are doing what you’re doing. That’s why I’ve said in the beginning that it is very important to have a definitive goal in life. With a goal in mind you know that if you stay persistent that you’ll get where you want to be and there is nothing that can stop you. Keep in mind that nothing overcomes persistence.

Most people will never stop procrastinating because they are afraid of failure. Remember that the only failure is in no longer trying. You need to fail in order to learn. A good way to keep yourself motivated and focused on your goals is to have a to-do list. Keep it at a place where you’ll see it at any point so that you are aware of your daily tasks and goals.

I don’t use a to-do list list anymore, instead I found a software that does the same thing and much more. The software is called The Action Machine, it’s literally a getting things done software, and it increased my productivity immensely and forced me to take action on a consistent basis, hopefully it can do the same for you.

TODAY’S TIP: Keep a list of what you want to do. Instead of asking can I do it tomorrow; ask, can I do it today?

Will you do it today?
