Your body or your car?

“Lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save it and preserve it.” ~Plato

This week we will discuss exercise, that dirty word. The body was meant to be used. With our modern technology and sedentary lifestyle many of us do very little each day to satisfy that need.

The body is an electrically operated machine just as your automobile. Both must be used or they start deteriorating.

Think of it this way. Both your automobile and your body need fuel. Gas for your car and food for your body. Both need air or they would not work. Both need water. In your car water helps to keep the engine from overheating. In your body water does the same thing with perspiration.

Both your car and your body needs to be lubricated. Your car uses oil and your body makes a fluid that lubricates your joints.

Both have an electrical system. In your car the electricity flows through the car’s wires. In your body electricity flows through what are called meridians. For those not familiar with acupuncture, the meridians are pathways through out the body that transmit your energy. Both have an electrical field. The body’s field is called the aura.

Both need a power supply. The car has its battery and the body has Qi or Chi or the life force. Here there is a difference. The battery is limited in the amount of power it can contain. When the battery gets low in power you start to have problems starting your car.

When the body gets low in power you also start having trouble getting started but the qi or life force that is available to the body is unlimited. It is all around. In order for us to become low in energy we must somehow block its flow. Exercise is one of the tools we have to keep that flow free.

finally, both the car and your body needs an operator. In this case it is the same. You operate your car and your higher self or soul operates your body.

So, as you can see your car and your body are electrically operated machines. This, perhaps, is why the body has been refereed to as “your vehicle through life.”

We know what happens if a car is put in storage and left for a long period of time. Unless we take care we will have trouble when trying to start it again. In the very lest it will be sluggish.

The same is true with the body. If we are, what is called the couch potato, the body becomes sluggish and stiff. Over a long period of time it will develop dis-ease, which result in health problems.

You have a maintenance plan for your automobile. Do you have a maintenance plan for your body. If not, why not, is not your body more important than your automobile?

A major part of that maintenance plan for your body is exercise. Regular exercise keeps the body supple and easier to maintain health.

TODAY’S TIP: Follow the exercise guidelines of at least 20 to 30 minutes 3 or 4 times a week. You will feel the difference.

Did you exercise today?
